Filip Slapal was born in Prague in 1972.

He began his photography career in 1993 at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts. He graduated in 1998. In 1997 he opened his own studio in Prague where he focused primary on design and architectural photography. His first book, Golden Andel,Jean Novel in Prague, was published in 2000. His photographs was published in many international magazines such as A 10, Abitare, Domus, Dolce Vita, Elle, Elle Decoration, Esquire, Frame,Wall Paper and many others.
